The checks described on this website are capability categories, not a promise that every check applies to every engagement. Scope depends on the agreed purpose, risk, lawful authority, proportionality, available sources, location, timing and client instructions.
Sources and information
Findings depend on information lawfully available and information supplied by the commissioning client, subjects and relevant institutions. Access may be incomplete, delayed, restricted or unavailable. Crestview does not claim unrestricted access to government, financial, credit or proprietary databases.
Risk cannot be eliminated
Due diligence can reduce uncertainty but cannot establish complete accuracy, discover every issue or eliminate all legal, commercial, operational or reputational risk. Unresolved matters, material discrepancies and known limitations are documented where relevant.
Reports are time-bound and purpose-bound
A report reflects the agreed scope and information available at the relevant time. Circumstances and records may later change. Reports are prepared for the commissioning client and stated purpose and should not be repurposed or relied upon by others without agreement.
Decision responsibility
Crestview provides evidence and professional judgement within the agreed scope. The commissioning client remains responsible for its decision, applicable legal duties and any additional advice required.
Authority, consent and website enquiries
Consent or other lawful authority may be required before particular checks begin. A public website visit, email or telephone enquiry does not create an active verification engagement and should not include sensitive documents.
